This abstract provides a concise overview of recent advancements in the field of retinal vascular eye disease and diabetes. Researchers have made progress in unraveling the pathogenesis, identifying chronic hyperglycemia and associated metabolic abnormalities as key factors leading to oxidative stress, inflammation, and vascular dysfunction within the retinal microvasculature.
