Extracellular vesicles (EVs) can be categorized into two groups based on where they came from: the exosome and the ectosome When multivesicular bodies (MVBs) mature, the inward budding of the endosomal membrane results in the formation of exosomes, which are intraluminal vesicles (ILVs).
