Vit C in the prevention and treatment of Covid-19

High-dose of Vitamin C is safe. High-dose VC has a di­rect virus killing effect; High-dose VC boosts immunity. VC’s prototypical antioxidant effects in cytokine storm/ ARDS of Covid-19. Studies show VC is able to prevent virus infection, shorten pneumonia, effective in sepsis treatment and shorten sepsis patients ICU stay. Prelimi­nary studies of VC on Covid-19, the Chinese experience. The official endorsement of high-dose IVC for the treat­ment of Covid-19 by Shanghai and Guangzhou govern­ments. The China high-dose IVC experience is causing a worldwide interest in VC and Covid-19. The dilemma of vaccines: The time from R & D to clinical is too long to play a role in an epidemic like Covid-19 in time. The vaccine has failed to work for SARS and MERS, and will not work for Covid-19 in the near future. There were 14 outbreaks that killed more than 1,000 people in the 200 years of the 19th and 20th centuries. In less than 20 years in the 21st century, such outbreaks have occurred 11 times, and it seems to be more and more frequent. Our vaccine centred anti-epidemic approach needs to be re-evaluated. Alternative medicine approach including VC is of great significance to this and future outbreaks.
